The Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic presents her credentials to the President of Malta Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca

On the 17th September 2015, at the San Anton Palace, Chryssoula Karykopoulou-Vlavianou presented her credentials to the President of Malta Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca.

During the ceremony, the President of Malta and the Ambassador discussed bilateral relations.

Born in Athens in 1957, Ambassador Karykopoulou-Vlavianou holds a degree in Political Science from the University of Athens.

Her career in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs started in 1980 when she was appointed Attaché of the Embassy. In 1984, she served at the Permanent Mission of Greece to UNESCO in Paris as Deputy Head of Mission. In 1994, she served at the Embassy of Greece in Cairo as First Cunselor, and in 1999 she served at the Embassy of Greece to the Holy See. More recently, in 2006 she was accredited at the Ambassador of Greece to Chile, a post which she occupied till 2011, when she was appointed in the role of Director of the International Development Cooperation Department (Hellenic Aid), in the Directorate for Personnel and Finance and in the Directorate of Technical Services within the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

Karykopoulou-Vlavianou is married and has three children.
