President of Malta, Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, presided over the launch of The British Legion’s Poppy Appeal 2016 in Malta. In her speech, President Coleiro Preca, urged all members of the Maltese public to yet again show their strong belief in the value of solidarity and participate in the Poppy Appeal, which seeks to collect funds for Maltese ex-servicemen and their families, who might need help. She said that the poppy appeal is also an appeal for peace, adding that “by participating in the annual Poppy Appeal, all of us can make a statement that Malta will forever be a country committed to peace.”
