President of Malta Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca this morning received Mr George Dassis, President of the European Economic and Social Committee, at Sant’Anton Palace.
During the courtesy call, President Coleiro Preca expressed her gratitude towards the work of this committee, which she described as a committee of great importance. She also thanked the Maltese members of the National Delegation, who work closely with the committee, and who are working hand in hand with the European Economic and Social Committee in light of the upcoming Maltese Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
“I am convinced that the European Economic and Social Committee will collaborate fully with Malta during the Presidency to come up with strategies to continue combating poverty, promoting equality and eliminating social exclusion”, President Coleiro Preca said.
