Ambassador of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic Khitchadeth Kham-Inh, presented his credentials to the President of Malta Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca at The Palace, in Valletta.
During the ceremony, the President of Malta and the Ambassador discussed bilateral relations.
Ambassador Khitchadeth Kham-Inh has served as Director-General of the International Organisations Department within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2015 to 2017 and from 2014-2015 he was Deputy-Director-General within the same Department. From 2011 to 2014 Mr. Khitchadeth was the Deputy Permanent Representative of the Lao PDR to the United Nations in New York. He was also based at the Permanent Mission of the Lao PDR in New York from 1992 to 1995 as an Attaché, and from 1986 to 1990 as the Ambassador’s Secretary. From 2003 to 2007, he served as the First Secretary, Head of Administration, and Assistant of the Permanent Representative to the United Nations Economic and Social Commissioner for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) at the Lao Embassy to Thailand.
A career diplomat, Mr. Khitchadeth joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Lao PDR in 1983. He has held a number of different positions at the Ministry, including Deputy Director-General, ASEAN Department, MOFA from 2008 to 2011, and Director of the Political and Security Cooperation Division, ASEAN Department, MOFA from 2007 to 2008. He has a B.A. in English and an M.A. in Political Science and Public Administration. He was born on 15th May 1958 in Oudomxay Province, Lao PDR, and is married, with two children.
Currently, Ambassador Khitchadeth is Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Lao PDR to the Office of the United Nations and other International Organisations, including the World Trade Organisation in Geneva; Ambassador to the Swiss Confederation; non-resident Ambassador to the Republic of Cyprus, the Republic of Greece, the Republic of Italy, the Principality of Liechtenstein, the Republic of Malta, and the Republic of Turkey.
