The Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Malta presents his credentials to the President of Malta Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca

On 1st September 2016, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China Jiang Jiang presented his credentials to the President of Malta Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca at The Palace, in Valletta.

 

During the ceremony, the President of Malta and the Ambassador discussed bilateral relations.

 

Born in May 1965, Jiang Jiang is a native of the Liaoning Province. He studied at Capital Normal University in Beijing, where he received a bachelor’s degree in the English language and literature, and the University of Kent at Canterbury, where he received a master’s degree in international relations.

 

The Ambassador joined China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) in 1986. Over the past thirty years he has served as division director of the Department of Translation and Interpretation of the MFA, division director and counselor of the Central Foreign Affairs Office (1997-2001), counselor at China’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York (2001-2004), deputy director-general of the Foreign Affairs Bureau of the General Office of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (2004-2006), counselor of the Information Department of the MFA (2006-2007), and deputy director-general and director-general of the Department of Translation and Interpretation of theMFA (2007-2013). He was China’s Ambassador to Lebanon from April 2013 to May 2016 and arrived in Malta in June 2016.

 

Jiang Jiang is married and has one daughter.
