The Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus Mr Aleksandr Guryanov presented his credentials to the President of Malta Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca at The Palace

The Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus Mr Aleksandr Guryanov presented his credentials to the President of Malta Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca at The Palace.

 

During the ceremony, the President of Malta and the Ambassador discussed bilateral relations.

 

The Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Guryanov was born on the 8th December, 1972 in Russia. Having graduated from the Belarusian State Economic University (International Economic Relations) and completed training programs of the Joint Vienna Institute, the UNDP/UNIDO and the Economic Institute of the World Bank, he started his career in the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations of the Republic of Belarus. Later he joined the Diplomatic service, being posted in Belarusian embassies in Poland, the United Arab Emirates and after that becoming the Director of Asia, Africa and Middle East Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus.

 

In 2006 Mr. Guryanov was appointed as the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Korea. After that mission he took the position of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. During the following five years, he was responsible for the economic diplomacy, relations with the countries of America, dealing as well with the numerous national and international projects, including Eurasian Integration, WTO accession and free trade zones negotiations.

 

He was appointed the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in Rome in December 2015, being officially accredited in Italy and accordingly in the FAO Headquarters in April 2016.

 

Ambassador Guryanov is married and has one daughter. He speaks English, French and Polish, studies Italian.
