Mr Rajesh Vaishnaw presented his credentials to the President of Malta Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca at The Palace, in Valletta.
During the ceremony, the President of Malta and the High Commissioner discussed bilateral relations.
Mr. Rajesh Vaishnaw joined Indian Foreign Service in 1996 and has worked in various diplomatic positions in Indian Embassies in Sweden, Poland, United Arab Emirates and Egypt. He has also dealt with India’s relations with Japan and South Korea as well as worked in Administration and Finance Divisions of Ministry of External Affairs of India. Before being appointed as High Commissioner of India to the Republic of Malta, he worked as Director General in Ministry of External Affairs responsible for E-Governance and looked after work related to promotion of Hindi and Sanskrit languages.
Mr. Rajesh Vaishnaw is an alumnus of the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi and graduated in Electrical Engineering from there. He is married to Ms. Shweta Sharma and they have one son.
