The High Commissioner of the Republic of Seychelles presents her credentials to the President of Malta Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca

On the 27th November , at the Presidential Palace in Valletta, Ms. Marie-Perrie Lloyd presented her credentials to the President of Malta Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca.
 
During the ceremony, the President of Malta and the High Commissioner discussed bilateral relations.
 
High Commissioner was born on the 15th June 1952 in the Seychelles and is a Social Development Specialist by profession.
 
With over thirty years of experience in management and social development, Marie-Perrie is passionate about holistic, integrated and inclusive development. She has used her expertise and experience to pioneer and promote sound people-centred polices, programmes and projects as the basis for sustainable development. She is dedicated to empowering individuals, families and communities which she sees as key to any personal and social transformation.
 
High Commissioner Lloyd has over 30 years experience in the public sector in the Seychelles in five different ministries. She held the role of Social Development Officer in the Ministry of Education and Social Development (1976-1978). Between 1980 and 1982 she was Assistant Secretary for Aid within the Ministry of Economic Development Planning and Housing. In 1982 she was Under-secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, a post which she occupied till 1984. For the following two years she was Permanent Secretary for Health within the Ministry of Health. Lastly, between 1986 and 1988 she was appointed Secretary of State within the Ministry of Education, Information and Youth.
 
Marie-Perrie Lloyd, pursued a Masters programme in the UK, after which she worked as a Consultant on overseas projects funded by the Overseas Department Agency in the UK, the World Bank and the IMF. Upon her return to the Seychelles in 1995, Marie-Perrie Lloyd continued to work as a Consultant to various organizations before rejoining the Civil Service in 2000-2003 as Special Advisor to the Minister for Social Affairs.
 
In 2006, High Commissioner Marie-Perrie Lloys was Minister for Employment and Social Affairs, a portfolio which she occupied till 2007. In 2007, she was appointed Minister for Health and Social Development till 2010. Between 2010 and 2012 she was Roving Ambassador for Women and Children, to then become the Resident High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland. She is also Seychelles’ non-resident Ambassador to Finland, Sweden, Norway, Cyprus, Greece, Malta and Seychelles Permanent Representative to the International Maritime Organization.
